Hi, I am Marty, a pet-loving author and artist living in Melbourne. I have had cats and dogs in my life for over 40 years. Currently, Callie and Hibou are the cats I share my home with.
I have been on the LPC pet care team for six years, and still enjoy meeting new animals as well as renewing my acquaintance with regular clients. I am also a WIRES-accredited wildlife carer, a keen gardener and a birdwatcher.
I have experience in dealing with animals that need regular medication, including insulin shots. I am comfortable with large dogs, but always prefer to meet them before accepting a booking. I wrangle rabbits, chooks, turtles, guinea pigs, and goldfish too.
I will look after your pets as if they were my own and would love a chance to meet up with you and your pets soon.
I'm always really busy over the Xmas-New Year period, so please plan ahead and book me early.
In line with COVID-safe requirements, I am vaccinated and happy to wear a mask in your home.

Marty has looked after my cat several times now and I cant recommend him more highly. I have come home to a happy and relaxed pet, always plenty of food and water left for him. Lucifer loves Marty.
I have a camera installed that monitors his food and water while we are away. In the past, I checked the camera as soon as I would wake up in the morning. I also had alerts set up to notify me when there was motion so I could check on my boy.
On this latest trip away, I didn't set up motion alerts and I think I only looked at the camera once - this is because I am completely relaxed when Marty is looking after Luci. It's nice to go away and not worry.
I really appreciate it when Marty sends through a pic or a vid!

Felt very comfortable leaving out cat, Lenny with Marty while we went away for the weekend. Definitely appreciated the videos Marty sent us as it was our first trip away since we got our kitten. Will definitely be booking Marty next time we're away!!

I have recently moved and unfortunately have moved out of my previous carer's region. However, I was lucky to be able to get Marty to drop in for a couple of days over Christmas, knowing how busy this period can get. Even though he probably only saw one of my cats I came home to two happy kitties. Thank you.

My cat Sizzles is fed on the kitchen table and when I got home her food dishes had been moved to the floor and I'm not sure why. She's used to being fed on the table and it keeps her agile having to jump up to it.

As Marty is fully aware, we have a camera in the house to monitor Lucifer while we are away. We generally have a quick look each day over dinner to reassure us that our boy is doing ok, normally with the volume down because we're a public space.
Stacey caught a motion alert and was able to catch the action live one morning. For the first time, the volume on her phone as turned up.
It was wonderful! As soon as Marty entered the apartment. Lucifer came running out Meowing. While Marty watered our plants and sorted out the litter tray - he and Lucifer had a little conversation with each of Marty's questions responded to.

Marty was super friendly and professional. Lucifer loved him, even popping out from hiding to say hello when Marty popped around for our meet and greet - a rarity for my normally shy cat that made me comfortable about leaving him in his care.
